Something Unknown

This hole is deep
And dark
Flickers of images line the walls
Reels of memories
Disappearing as quickly as they appear
I don’t see a way out
Or even a way through
I’ll likely settle here
Hoping light will find its way in
Maybe over time
Slivers and cracks will provide some relief
Until then
I’ll write
And keep watering this well
With salty rivers sliding off my face
Trying each day
To chisel a little further toward something
Something unknown
